Ok. I'll try to follow your train of though.

I'm finding it a little hard to find the right words to express this succinctly. -- It's not at all obvious that there should exist chemicals that show no AD effect at all except when combined with a second effective therapy.

You might be right. I'll be giving it some more thought.
