I realize I'm coming late to the party, but had to share my Nardil nightime experiences....yep, the hypomania starts to get to me at times. Nardil saved my life, no doubt, but I'm still not completely comfortable with occasionally not sleeping at all, even when I feel very good despite the lack of sleep.

My cycle was so far off, I finally gave up and simply started working nights and sleeping days. This seemed to work quite well...until I had to go visit family and friends. From the beginning, I slept only every other night.

In desperation, I remembered my father's Lorazepam and snaffled a pill. 1mg and 20 minutes later, and I was calm, relaxed, and then sleeping well. Very nice, since the benzodiazepenes in general make me a bit nervous, and certainly Valium has never made me feel relaxed and well.

I awoke the next day rested and non-woozy. That night, I just took my usual Nardil, and a cup of hot chocolate, and slept perfectly fine. Next night...insomnia again, Lorazepam again, all ok.

I'm obviously going to discuss this with my doctor - unfortunately, Trazedone has never worked for me (it always gave me abou 30 minutes of real nausea, then 30 minutes of basically unconsciousness, before I wake up and can't go back to sleep all night.

Anyone else had this same success with a Nardil Lorazepam (Ativan) combination?
