Hi,

When I was in my 20s the first AD I ever took was prothiaden (a tricyclic). That literally took a day to work, the effect was amazing and they continued to work for five years.

However, this time round I started taking Clomipramine (another tricyclic) and this took around five weeks to start having an affect at a high dose. The first month or so I did still feel very depressed and at times extremely anxious but after about five weeks I did start to feel somewhat better. Although the affect has never been as good as when I was in my 20s I am at least able to work now and get things do. Which I wasn't able to do at the beginning of the year.

So there is hope that things will get better.

Denise
