Hi Ron, thanks for the posts.

The last time I tried Lamictial was just 5mg (maybe even 2.5mg) and after a couple of days I was fevered, my face was bright red and hot and my gums started feeling funny again (this was the 3rd or 4th time I'd tried it), so I was told to stop it right away.

I had used Trileptal in the past and the only issue I had with it was that it messed up my periods - which is a real pain. I had a total hysterectomy, so I don't have to worry about that anymore, but I do take estrogen.

I'm wondering if my Pdoc wants me to try Equetro because maybe it doesn't mess with my hormones the way Trileptal does? Don't know.

I have resisted mood stabilizers for years because I didn't want to gain weight. But my reg doc and husband are encouraging me to try a small dose mood stabilizer.
