Since starting the Mitrazipine, I have been expereincing Tardive Dyskinesia symptoms which include trembling of my lower lip. I want to talk with my psychiatrist about weaning off of my medications and starting on EMPower Plus. I have printed out information from the TrueHope website for her to read. I'm looking for case studies and EMPower Plus user testimonies. Does anyone have any suggestions? What is the best way to safely wean from my current meds to start the EMPower Plus supplementation? Any experienced EMPower Plus users?

See my previous response to you above ---

Trembling of the lower lip is not Tardive Dyskinesia as you stated the time you were on Remeron.

It is a possible EPS spectrum side effect though of the two medicines conceivably.

If you're really concerned about TD, ask your doctor for a simple AIMS exam -- your psychiatrist should know how to perform this.

Also, people who develop TD are -not- aware of the condition. This is basic evidence based medical and neurological knowledge.

There are also conditions that are temporary that are not Tardive at all and disappear.

The anxiety spectrum itself can also cause random twitches and trembles in any part of the body.

Its possible that this combination of medications may be producing too many side effects for you --- it is always a trade off whether the benefits outweigh the risks in -any- medical challenge, mental illness/biochemical imbalance or otherwise.

One thing to possibly ask your doctor about is a trial of propranolol and/or Artane/Cogentin to see if the trembling subsides.

Definitely if you take an anticholinergic like the latter two, and things dampen, it is NOT TD.

As for EmpowerPlus, I already posted about Health Canada's attempt at cease and desist.

It is now in that country's equivalent of a supplement, and the ingredients are plainly listed as I think per requirement on Health Canada's side.

It is beyond "alternative medicine" in my opinion -- the q* word comes to mind.

People who have "dumped" their medications for it have had serious consequences sometimes.

Just because there are testimonials about vitamins you can practically buy all of them over the counter, doesn't mean that the placebo effect isn't a full state.

"Testimonials" for something that is supposed to 'cure' something is also a fair sign that it isn't a medical product that has had thousands of double blind patient-trials.

But, far be it from me to stop someone from venturing into alternative medical practices... its just...

...and I seem to have to always silence myself for board rules so I can't say what I really think about this product and the faults that it could cause...

...I'll just reiterate again that it goes way beyond what I even see as alternative possibilities in my mind.
