I've been taking Buspirone for about 2 months, and have no noticable side effects other than some strange brain shock type feelings that persist for a few minutes within about 10 minutes after I take my 15 mg. dose twice per day.
I have had weight gain problems from SSRIs and then when I quit taking them, in addition to hormonal issues and slowed metabolism, had intense evening cravings for carbs/sugar. When I tried Wellbutrin, w/in 2 days I lost those cravings. Not that cravings are your issue, but you didn't mention whether or not you were taking anything else in addition to Buspar.
But weight problems w/Buspirone--no, definitely no affect upon weight. I'm 100 percent sure about that for my case.
You might be interested in going over to the Health forum where a few of us were discussing weight loss issues. Maybe we could form a micro support group over there.
