> I've reached a point where seroquel is no longer working. I'm on Zonegran (which I love) Klonopin (as needed) Seroquel and now Ambien for sleep. Seroquel used to knock me out at night, but now all it does is make me dizzy and nauseous. I'm on 800mg. I've tried Zyprexa which made me gain weigt and messed with my blood sugar unless I was really careful about what I was eating. I've also tried Abilify with and without the Seroquel. Without the Seroquel it made me extremely angry and I had a meltdown at work after taking too many Klonopin wafers to calm down...seriously scary. When I took it with the Seroquel I had really bad headaches and constant heartburn and this was at 2.5mg. I have not tried Geodon and from what I've read I really don't want to. The only other atypical left is Risperdal which I've heard is horrid for weight gain and I don't need any help in that area since I'm working on losing the weight from all the other meds. As far as mood stabilizers go I've tried Lithium, Depakote and Lamictal. I just don't want my doc to take away the zonegran. It has been a great med even if I did have to nag her to put me on it. Any help is appreciated!

Thats a tough one. Sounds like you are maxed out on Seroquel for now. So you are looking for something to help with moods and sleep? And you don't want to take Abilify because it makes you feel angry. Didn't know that could be a side effect. I know you don't like the idea of weight gain, but what about trying a small amount of risperdal, and something else for sleep? Just one idea. Sounds like you're going to have to look closely at your options with your Doc. As for the Zonegran, Tell her up front before going over your other meds, that it is important to you that that be part of your medication treatment. Wish I could offer more help! Its frustrating making med changes, most of us have been there.

Good Luck!
