I have some questions about the new Nardil formulation, especially the Canadian one vs the old Nardil.
In Canada, Nardil is now made by Erfa compagny, not Pfizer. I read on a website that it's the same formulation that's the one from the States. I also read that's only the UK formulation was effective like the old version, is it true?
I'm a lot worried about the efficacity of the new formulation. Is it true all what I read about the new formulation? A lot of people seem to think it's just not working anymore since Pfizer change it.
I found a website back in 2007 who make me feel like I will lost my time again on another drug who will not work at all. The same apply to Parnate, since it's more activating than Nardil, it seem to not be a good drug for me, with a short half-life also, you need to not forget a dose to avoid the up and down effect...at day 4 and 10 mg/day, I drop it...too much side effects that I don't like and I wanted to take all my valiums pills just to be able to calm me down...so that's not good...I know side effects fade away normally with time, but i'm not in the mood for another 2 months of BAD side effects. Anyway, I think they also remove the enteric coated film on the Parnate also, even if it's not the same compagny. The pills I got was like the new Nardil, you put it in your mouth and it dissolve very fast, if your fingers have water on it and you take the pill, the color fade away...so I suppose it's not film coated anymore...

I also read on others threads that you make the new Nardil more effective, by putting it into an enteric coated caps. Is it worth the try or not? Also, I read on another threat (I can't find it now) that you can take something to help absorbing the medicaton more well, it work also for the vitamins absorbtion and things like that?. The name begin with BIO???? It's a pepper extract or something like that...I don't remember the name of it , so i'm sorry for that...
Back in 2007, my doctor prescribe to me the Nardil, it was my first try on a MAOI drug. I was not aware of the change in the formulation of the drug. I do a lot of research on the web, like I always do when I start a new drug and I found a lot of horrible stories about the new formulation and the facts that it was not effective at all, causing more side effects than good effects, even at a higher dose. The month after, when I return to see my doctor, I talk about this to him and he said that he was not aware of the situation at all. He also said that all his patients on the Nardil was on that drug since more than 10 years and no ones had complaint about the new formulation or even mention the newer look of the pills to the doctor. My new psychiatrist who prescribe it to me this week was not aware also about the loose of effectiveness of the new Nardil VS the old Nardil. He say the compagny run out of stock back in 2003 but nothing else. He also say that none of is patients who are on the Nardil since years and years ever complaints about the change or anything else. So I guess the new formulation is effective like the old one ???
So, i'm just wondering if I can do something to be sure I absorb more well the drug? Taking it with a big glass of cold water? Avoid taking it with hot food, or even coffee? On an empty stomach or with foods? If I take something to reduce my gastric acidity (Tums), maybe it will help to prevent the destruction of the active ingredients in the gastric acid and it will go directly into my intestin where it's suppose to be absorbe ???
I also read a study about the new film colored pills vs the olf hard coated pills...and it's seem to be approximatly equivalent. That's study is from 2002, the new formulation is from 2003, I don't know if the "new film coated" pills they use in the study is the same we have now in the new nardil from Canada or USA?

Maybe i'm just too much worried about the Nardil, or maybe I try too much and I want to find a "miracle" pill who will really work this time, maybe I put to much energy thinking about that, maybe I just want to go too fast again and i'm too negatives ...But I just want to know and be more confident about the new Nardil...cause something seem to be wrong with it and that's not normal to read so much negative feedbacks about it when you can also find at the same time some studies, heard real stories and find some evidences that the new formulation work like the old one, even if they remove some "inactive" ingredients.
Any good comments and also good tricks about this will be helpfull please ;-)
