If it's nortriptyline, I don't think you'll have trouble distinguishing between it & a placebo.

I'm guessing that you'll experience more side effects from just about anything, than you will experience on a placebo. ...so at least you'll know that it's not a placebo. Just a thought - don't know if it's really any comfort, though.
