When my Hypothyroidism was under treated, I had terrible anxiety and could not sleep, was also depressed. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos thyroiditis which can cause your TSH to fluctuate as your thyroid is attacked by antibodies your body makes against the thyroid. As the thyroid deteriorates it sometimes puts out large amounts of thyroid hormone and sometimes none....it sputters. My advice would be to have your endo test for thyroid antibodies.
My TSH levels are suppressed (.01)to keep my thyroid from having a tantrum.
My P doc was the one who recommended that the endo test and follow this course. That was two years ago and it worked like a charm. I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised.
