Wellbutrin- big difference taking it 2nd time

Posted by alexa35 on April 5, 2008, at 8:22:26

I've tried all the SSRIs/SNRIs when this depression resulted from a bad experience years ago. The only rx that seemed to help was Wellbutrin - I would take either 200 or 300 mg of the SR. Took it for a couple years...no weight gain.
Now, 2 years later I was prescribed it again for major depression. I feel NO relief at all from the depression after 4 weeks. I feel very moody, irritable. I think I feel even more depressed than a month ago. I go to work and am miserable and come home and fall asleep at 7:00 for the night!!
Also I noticed today my jeans no longer fit!
So I am gaining weight from it?
I just don't understand how I could have such a different experience this time around. Dr. gave me the same dosage and same SR. He thought to use what worked years ago and not try the XL.

At a loss. Thanks for helping.

p.s. Dr. added Adderall as an extra boost and I saw no help.
