Effexor worked great for me for 4-5 years til it pooped out. It was a gradual poop out. But they say all SSRI's and maybe all SNRIs poop out eventually. But it controlled my anxiety and kept my depression at a manageable level. Don't expect immediate results. Like all AD's it takes a while to work. At least a couple of weeks, maybe three. I'd say go for it.

> sorry, posted before i had finished. i am hoping to get some type of immediate results from this. i must keep my business up and running as i have relied on my co-workers to basically carry me for the past year. Any thoughts on effexor? Have you had any good results?
