Bromo, fibro, Effexor, constipation, RLS + more!

Posted by cookie_gal on December 31, 2007, at 2:35:09

All these things and so much more. Let's connect the dots in order or starting in the middle???...

First or middle dot: I just have to let the whole world know that for me, taking liquid Calcium/Magnesium does wonders for RLS. And I think there is a connection with electrolytes. Because...

When I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor (prolactinoma)... which I am sure was caused by taking Effexor for 11 years... I also realized that my electrolytes were very low. So, I got a bottle of them at the health food store and they help with RLS. And that is in connection with constipation because...

Effexor causes chronic constipation for me. Electrolytes are made (stored?) in the colon. And constipation somehow affects my electrolytes which in turn somehow affect my water balance. And this may be due to hypothyroid which I am sure I suffer from if only I can find a doctor to look beyond the numbers.

OK.. so Bromocriptine is for prolactinoma. Turns out to be wonderful because many countless years ago I tried Wellbutrin and it was great except I am very allergic to it. Bromo is similar to how Wellbutrin made me feel because it has to do with dopamine. Aha! Huh?

And it's true what they say about it helping out with the sex drive. Although I have read if one is predisposed to Schizophrenia, this is something to watch out for with Bromocriptine because it brings it on.

Now about the horrible love/hate relationship with Effexor. Saved my life, really. Now, 11 years later I'm soooo fat... how fat is she? Constipation, can we talk about sick and tired of dealing with laxatives/fiber/enemas? So I have been constipated for years and am wondering about just getting part of my colon removed. There is another board that I'm talking to people who are in the know about this.

Why don't I just go off of Effexor. Are you kidding me? Withdrawls like you have never seen. And as I posted on here, the fibromyalgia pain shows up if I'm not on the Effexor. Cymbalta doesn't work worth beans. However, I am wondering if anyone takes more than 60mg?? Or Cymbalta and a small amount of Effexor at the same time???

Here is the connection with fibro, Effexor and Bromo... I was reading that Bromo really helps some people who have fibro. When I tried to go off of Effexor and onto Cymbalta before and had to promptly go back on the Effexor because of pain, I was not on Bromo. I'm wondering if this time being on the Bromo, I will not have the pain. So I will be on Cymbalta, Effexor, Bromo, and Trileptal. Maybe it will work?

I'm also on Trileptal which works great for me with the mood swings. So much better than nightmare Neurontin or Depakote. Good grief!

Where was I? I forgot. Must be a side effect of one of the meds.
