> Well finally had to go to an Urgent Care cause the nurse at the doc's office that was filled insisited. So went to pick up meds and had an interesting talk with head pharmacist as I have a horrible sinus infection Tussi cough syrup was one the meds along with of course generic antibiotic. But get this the Tussi was over $79, Asked why no generic as I used to give it out so know it's not a new med been around a long time. She said the patent so far is l7 years old. She said they can not replicate a medium to create a generic. Same with premarin as they released a generic twice and had to recall as they cannot make a generic. And we talked about celexa and lexapro. She said they are similar meds but not the same so no wonder so many can't take the generic verions. Reminds me of what you all say of the MAOI's and the new versions. So what are the drug companies up to? Phillipa thought it interesting.

I thought 17 years was the rolloff for patents. This is a patented generic if its Tussi Organadin -- it contains phenylephrine, which is, unfortunately fairly useless. Thats why its on "patent." If they gave you codeine separately and guaifenesin separately and pseudoephedrine OTC you wouldn't be getting this. This is in response to the put behind the counter pseudoepehdrine crap (oh did I say that ?).

In other words its perfectly possible to have your prescription for half its cost. Someone just put a "patent" on PE formulas instead of allowing you to sign the poison register (the pseudoephedrine register). I'm surprised they didn't give you ... oh wait I just looked it up, Entex LA. None of that, its also PE. That stuff saved me several times. I'm surprised your ENT or doctor didn't give you orders for the strong stuff.

I do hope though it works for you, the PE, its jus that sinus sufferers have been royally complaining about it. I don't touch it.

Have a good holidays, get some rest.
