I would still see if there is a way you can convince him to take it at least long enough to withdrawl properly.

Do you think his reasoning is genuine (ie are there other reasons that he might not want to take it?)

Clomipramine 100mg withdrawl cold turkey could be horendious, mood swings, insomnia, irritability, loss of energy, paranoia, etc.

Does this concern extend to other medications or just this one?

Would it help to have him speak to a pharmacist?
