Hi all,
I just browse around internet cos my mom just recently been prescribed with Stablon, due to her 'depression' that persists after her mild stroke last Jan.
Just wondering, whether anybody out there have any experience or knowledge on depression caused by stroke - incl how to make it better?
My mom presdisposition is already a bit melancholic and pessimistic. Initially I thought the stroke just make her worst. I did not (or mayb subconciously did not) think it was a clinical depression. I was also scared of the side effects of antidepressant, with what little I learnt in school (I did bachelor of psychology) - that time it was mainly Prozac.I did some read up on Stablon and find it generally safe - at least it did not alter cognitive process and I just talk to her on the phone, she still sound very depressed though my dad said she's much better already.
Oh btw she's in Jakarta while I'm in Singapore.Really really hope anybody can enlighten me, I'm so lost! I got info on how to recover her physically, but mentally? We've tried psychologist and she says it's a waste of money. Sigh.
Thanks everybody!
