Carebear I used to take my synthroid with food too. But I eat yougurt in the morning and it's a form of calcium and it binds to the synthroid so you don't absorb as much. I decided to see an endo and the first thing he did was tell me to take it when I wake during the early morning hours on an empty stomach. I do now and it's taken a year and I'm on a lower dose than the ll years I took it with food. Also get the test to see if it's hasimotos thyroiditis as it changes up and down over time. Last summer I became hyperthyroid and hence the endo. And endos like the TSH to be between l-2. Phillipa
