Statins and Co-Q10

Posted by FredPotter on July 16, 2007, at 15:43:05

I've been taking a statin for years at a high dose but got worried about the many reports of their dangers and the fact that I had muscle aches and fatigue. This is said to be caused by the statin's interference with the synthesis of Co-Q10, a vital substance concerned with ATP and therefore energy production.

On giving them up a couple of months ago, I still get the aches but not the fatigue. I supplement with Q10 to try to repair the damage. I now wonder if the aches were caused by Q10 deficieny at all. Of course the increased energy may be caused by Nardil. Has anyone had similar experiences?
Thanks
Fred
