The emotional desensitization is part of
the treatment- a bad side effect. It is
unfortunate that we don't have better drugs
(though some are better than others).

However, have you taken into consideration the
*sensitization* that untreated depression and
manic-depression and schizophrenic psychosis brings? I would say it is far worse, for the person undergoing these conditions and for those near him.

Don't you think that the best possible drug is a better alternative than no drug at all?
