I'm sorry you had the same reaction as I did on the Trazadone. Wasn't it a horror?? The nurse had never heard of such a thing when I told them about it, but the pdoc stated that yes, it could happen. GREAT. Looks like you and I are one of the few with that lovely side effect. And suffocating is right! Jeepers. I had to keep telling my foggy brain that as each minute passed, the med was moving more and more out of my system. As I kept gulping water to keep my air passage open! Great fun. Lol.
I've taken both Seroquel and Remeron before, and never had the conjestion from either of them. I'm soooo sorry that you had to go through that with three different meds. It makes it scary to try new medications, but you know we have to keep at it.....because there IS a combination out there that is good for your particular system. The heck of it is being a lab rat in trying to find it!
I tried Melatonin once, before ever seeing a doctor, and I thought I was going to have a stroke. It scared me so much. While laying in bed, all of a sudden one of my blood vessels just started pumping really fast and hard. I thought it was going to blow! But it only lasted a few minutes and didn't come back. But it scared me enough that I never tried Melatonin again. Lol. And I've also tried Valerian, Kava Kava, and probably other herbals that I can't remember right now....all to no avail. Expensive and disheartening.
I'm glad that you found something that helps with your sleep now. A good night's sleep is not a bad thing. *smile*
