IgE antigens:

I think this is a clue. Unfortunately,
I don't know enough biochemistry to
see the exact link between lithium-induced
IgE production and allergenics in the
environment.

But on PubMed, I noticed that the alternative
drug for me which would have been Valproate
(i've had to fight for my lithium:-)) would
have resulted in the same overproduction of
IgE.
