I may have had a symptom similar to what you're describing when I took SSRIs, but I got it at a low, introductory dose. I can't take SSRIs at all, because of the SEs.

One SE I can only describe as an intense and odd feeling of not being able to "see straight." My brain also feel extremely whirring and buzzy, so they may have been distinct, but experienced together.

The not seeing straight part was really extreme and awful. I was esp. aware of it because I was working on a drawing and I just couldn't focus my eyes on what I was drawing. It was weird, but I just felt I couldn't, well, see straight. Like my eyes weren't moving around, but my vision felt strained and jumpy, as if I couldn't focus on and hold in my sight and my mind the thing I was looking at.

After two weeks, I completely ruined the part of the drawing I mostly worked on, and the last day, it was so severe and oppressive, I simply had to get off the med, which I think was zoloft. (I had the same reaction to prozac, too.)

It could well have been what you've had. Definitely got much better after I got off the SSRIs. No question in my mind that they caused it, whatever it was.
