CIPRO, Lithium, clonazepam, and Synthroid

Posted by Squiggles on October 16, 2006, at 12:32:14

I am on the 7th day of CIPRO - an antibiotic;
the common side effects listed on the pharmacy
blurb are:

- dizziness
- nausea
- possible mood changes or depression
- sleepiness
- headache
- jitters

(those are not the adverse ones)

I had the above, but the one that was most
disturbing and made sick up to today - was
dyspnea, and chest tightness. I spent most of the week in bed trying to breathe freely. It was reminiscent of what i used to get with Ibuprofin with lithium.

The dr. told me that there would be no interaction with lithium-- but i think this chest/heart/breathing problem was an interaction. It was worse upon taking it and tapered over two hours.

I just looked up intereactions and saw that mitrozonazepin [sp?] another antiobiotic *does* interact with lithium.

I am glad this is the last day.

Just in case anybody wants to know-- i think that was an interaction.
