Like all other SSRIs, the effect of Luvox is likely to be different in every person. Same for side effects. I've taken it for several years till it pooped out, and got up to 250 mg. While it helped with depression, I didn't find it so helpful for OCD and it was stimulating compared to Celexa which I take now.
