Paulwell I took xanax for years. And also I had no problem stopping it. I was taking aroung 2-3mg a day. I think I was just switched to valium a longer acting benzo. I'll be on a benzo the rest of my life as I've been on them for over 30years. Started with severe panic attacks. Oh and I never wanted to increase the dose. I changed cause it switched on me and made me tired instead of relieving anxiety and giving me relief so I felt "normal". Love Phillipa
