In my experience it is entirely possible. These diseases are not as clear cut as people make them out to be.

I remember reading that for some bipolars, test doses of amphetamines actually had antimanic effects.

I remember that I had (what I thought was) a manic episode. Impulsiveness/recklessness/racing mind etc. Ritalin calmed me down, and actually made me kind of a little depressed.

So, yes, I do think that (depening on the nature) it could have this effect.

There is a lot of overlap between bipolar and ADD. Some syptoms of mania could be explained in terms of hypofunctional frontal corticies.
