I was drinking 2 cups of green tea a day until I started the seroquel. It made me feel groggy, and so... I started drinking coffee again. I haven't had coffee in 4 months prior to this. not a drop. um. yeah, so now I'm drinking coffee and tea in the morning, cola at lunch, another coffee in the afternoon, and maybe another cola or 3 at dinnertime. Insomnia is not a problem, because the seroquel knocks me out everytime. I'm kinda tapping my foot a lot lately, but I don't feel that panicky jittery that I associate with caffeine overdose.

Well, the LD50 of caffeine is about 18 grams, or about 150 cups of coffee. It does increase epinephrine and norepinephrine by the HPA axis, so you do pose an interesting question.

In the Emerald City (Seattle), quintessentially known for coffee, high consumption is quite normal, probably due to depression from the grey that occupies most of the fall and early spring. (I went to college there and yes, I carried around 4 shots of espresso a day in a thermos.)

If it isn't affecting your sleep, the amount you described, while a significant amount of caffeine, is nowhere near any lethal amounts. Nevertheless, long term use does have subtle effects on the sleep cycle. Since you are aware of how much caffeine you are taking in, and its anyone's guess but the tea could have even more caffeine than the rest of what you mentioned, perhaps a reduction in a glass or two of something, or having one of any of the above beverages decaf might shed some light on whether the medication or your caffeine use is stronger for your depression
