Which is probably due more to its NE effects -- my head was on fire from Wellbutrin after some months, it put my OC thinking at night sky high.

> This past week my doctor suggested that I try Selegiline, and during the first 2 days I noticed the effect right away ( very positive ), but again, like on Wellbutrin, I couldn't sleep ( maybe 2 hours a night ). I have never had insomnia that bad except on these drugs.

Insomnia is one of many known side effects of Eldepryl, so its not out of the ordinary that it could happen regardless of transmitter effects. It is known that it can cause insomnia if taken later in the day.

Transmitters don't change in 2 days, it takes time.

> So SSRI type drugs have little effect, while dopamine-affecting drugs have too much of an effect. I know I could take other meds to try to tone down and balance the AD, but I'm wondering if there are any other suggestions. I've thought of breaking apart the selegiline pill and taking just a micro dose, but I'm not sure if breaking the pill apart is a good idea or not.

You need a good pill splitter with a razor edge -- but you should ask your doctor. Selegiline is only scored on one side by some manufacturers, not both, so it makes it more difficult (we're talking about at least some of the generic tablets form -- the capsule form and splitting those is probably not a good idea)
