OK, some UK docs are happy to prescribe short courses of benzos to treat insomnia. Long term use is pretty much restricted to those who are already physically dependent on benzodiazepines.

You could try doxepin or trimipramine next. If all else fails, sedating antipsychotics such as Seroquel are sometimes prescribed.

How do you react to antihistamine like Nytol?
