Paxil CR vs. Celexa? -- Abilify vs. Lamictal?

Posted by Girlnterrupted on November 18, 2005, at 5:08:24

I wrote a few days ago that I was undecided on whether to join a depression research project.

I decided to give it a try. The reasons for this are:

1. Free doctor visits.
2. Free Medications.
3. Free blood tests, EKG, other tests.
4. I can stop anytime if I'm feeling bad or it's not working out.
5. If I stop, they will provide 6 months of free mental health treatment.

It seems worth at least a try.

I have a question, though. They're going to taper me off Celexa and put me on Paxil CR, then add Abilify. (If Abilify doesn't work, I can go on Lamictal.)

Has anyone been on Paxil CR? Does it work for depression? What kind of side-effects does it have?

How about Abilify vs. Lamictal? I tried Abilify for two days and it made me nauseous and very tired. I would have given it more time if I hadn't been in school at the time, with lots of assignments and I could not afford to ruin my grades. Has anyone tried both? Which one works better in your experience?

Thanks for any comments.
