This happens sometimes. Drug X works for a while, then stops..upping the dose doesn't help. I dont think it has to do with med being generic; I guess you could up the dose a bit if you think that's the case, but I don't know how much good that will do. You might want to try a combo strategy, rather than doing 1-med therapy. SSRIs+Wellbutrin works pretty well; you can avoid some of the SSRI side effects that way. Remeron also helps alot of people, and can be combined with other stuff (ex: wellbutrin, effexor, cymbalta) if necessary. Depending on your symptoms, other medications--mood-stabilizers, stimulants, benzos--may also be helpful with handling your depression.
