There have been several folks who have tried Lyrica and have posted about their findings. Searching the archives might give you some info about other's experiences.
The last I heard, US FDA did not approve it for GAD and only for neuropathic pain and recently for partial onset seizures. So, any other use would be off label - which some docs are certainly willing to do. I believe the reason it was not approved for GAD was not due to lack of effect but a pesky finding of increased tumor growth in lab rats. GAD being such a widespread disorder I think they preceived the risk versus benefit profile to be concerning. Whether this should have been a reason to "hold" it for that approval - I don't really know and is a question that some folks voiced strong opinions on. I'm just putting the info here as I recall it.
It's worth a talk about. It's looked very promising in studies - whether that equates to good results in general use is something I think you should talk with your pdoc about.
