Xanax Xr - effective and similar to normal X..

Does somebody have experience with Xanax Xr?
I have heard that for many people Xanax Xr is totally different and only sedating compared with the common Xanax, without the anxiolytic, euphoric effect and it does not last for the whole day.
I took once a small dosage of Xanax Xr and it seemed only to be sedating.
Does somebody prefer Xanax Xr to Klonopin?
