Prescribing Information lists "taste perversion" at 300mg 2% and 400mg 4% in placebo trials. I never had that effect but its conceivable.

The description is also:

"Bupropion hydrochloride powder is white, crystalline, and highly soluble in
water. It has a bitter taste and produces the sensation of local anesthesia on the oral mucosa."

I suppose if the pill broke open slightly you might get some odd taste but thats unlikely considering the coating for SR.
