I agree completely! Whether its helping or not, i've found that some doctors i've seen still want you to take a drug ~ it reminded me afew years ago when I was taking SSRI antidepressants and they were clearly making me worse and yet the the GP was continuing to prescribe them, and the psychiatrist I was seeing at the time was even increasing the dosage, which in turn was even making me worse than I would have been without the medication. I was 17/18 years old at the time too, and had no idea what these doctors were doing to me i.e giving antidepressants to a bipolar person which was indeed making me worse!
Now when I see the doctor I don't use him for his suggestions, rather I suggest to him what I take, very politely of course, but at least now i'm getting better :-)
He even refused one medication once, but I wrote a letter to him explaining why I should take it along with evidence (kind of a like an appeal) luckily it worked lol
I've found this to be true of the Article...
