Hi, I was on Effexor for a year and a half and the sweats were with me the whole time :-(
I was really surprised to read that it's also prescribed for women suffering hot flashes (I thought, to make them worse??). I know of several women who take it for that reason and have great relief!!

I considered it a great trade off for my depression and anxiety. Eventually the med cause my blood pressure to creep up too high and I switched to Cymbalta, a similar medication. No sweats on this although the benefits don't feel as pronounced.
Keep cool,
ClearSkies
