Effexor and My Sister

Posted by sunsplashinwaves on August 28, 2005, at 9:39:44

My sister is 18 yrs old and she is currently living at home with my parents. She is going to school. The environment she lives in is sort of a war zone. My mom thinks she is a teenagers again, chasing her teenage love and my dad (who she is still married to) is having a break down. So, my sister, having her own problems has been put on Effexor by her pdoc. My mom does not know what dose and I can't talk to my sister long enough to find out but she is having these terrible outbursts. She has always had them but these are worse. I can call my mom and feel the rage thru the phone. And it's about silly things but things she is passionate about getting done right then. They pdoc told her he would not give her Xanax b/c it was too addictive and the Zoloft was not doing a thing for her. Mom said for the 1st week or so she was happy but now seems angry. From what I have been reading this drug is harder to stop than the Xanax. What do you think from the outside looking in????
