THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO REPLY TO BOTH OF YOU....YOU ARE VERY KIND FOR DOING THAT AND I TRULY APPRECIATE IT, ESPECIALLY RIGHT NOW...ABOUT THE BREATHING DIFFICULTIES I WILL BRING THAT UP TO BOTH MY PCP AND MY PDOC AND SEE WHAT EACH SAYS, I HAVE ASTHMA AND SLEEP APNEA, SO IF THERES ANY CHANCE OF BREATHING PROBLEMS I WILL NOT KEEP TAKING THIS MEDICATION. BUT I DID FEEL SO MUCH BETTER MY ANXIETY WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN EVER AND I WAS ONLY ONLY ON IT FOR 2 WEEKS, ON 2 DOSES OF 25 MGS A DAY!!! IT WAS GREAT BUT I LOST THE REST OF THE TABLETS SOMEHOW DURING MY TRIP WITH MY MOM TO MAINE THIS PAST WEEK!!! NOW I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO, I HAD TO COME HOME EARLY CUZ I GOT 2ND DEGREE BURNS ON MYFOOT FROM ACCIDENTALLY DROPPING A KETTLE OF BOILING WATER ON IT WHILE MAKING TEA! NOW I'M ON ANTI-BIOTICS AND I HAVE TO SOAK MY FOOT TWICE A DAY AND PUT SPECIAL BURN CREAMS ON IT AND BANDAGE IT AND I CANT SWIM IN THE LAKE OR WALK TOO LONG, IT REALLY SUCKS, SOME VACATION, HUH? SHOULD I WAIT 2 WEEKS TIL I SEE MY PDOC AGAIN TO GET MORE TOPAMAX OR SHOULD I CALL HIM AND TELL HIM WHAT HAPPENED AND ASK FOR A REFILL? I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO...I AM VERY DEPRESSED, ABOUT MY FOOT, ABOUT RUINING MY POOR MOM'S VACATION, JUST LIFE IN GENERAL RIGHT NOW, I HAVEN'T SLEPT, I AM SO UPSET ABOUT WHETHER TO GO TO MAINE TIL SUNDAY TO PLEASE MY MOM OR BE PHYSICALLY MORE COMFORTABLE AT HOME HERE, I'M SICK ABOUT IT, CRYING ABOUT IT....THIS IS TOO OVERWGELMING FOR ME, I'LL FEEL TERRIBLE NO MATTER WHAT I DO AND I AM IN EXCRUTIATING PAIN AND NOTHING IS HELPING THAT, MY FOOT JUST NEEDS TO HEAL ON ITS OWN....WHAT SHOULD I DO? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY WELCOME.....THANKS GUYS......

Don't worry, I take topomax for Bipolar disorder, and it is working very well for me. It helps stabilize my moods, and keeps me out of depression. I take it along with Zoloft. My daughter is also Bipolar, and she takes it as well. We are doing just fine with it,and I think you will also. Are you starting out at a low dose? I started out at 25mg, and kept it there for around two weeks. Go up slowely, because if you don't, you will get some negative side effects. My daughter did feel as if she may pass out at a cheer competition, but that lasted about one week. This medication has been a blessing for me, and I wish I had known about it years before now. Some people take it with another mood stabilizer, but it is doing fine on it's own in my case. Keep checking back to the board for posts to your question. Let us know if we can help you.
