Thanks for that information, Racer. Do you have any links or sources for Effexor and hyperglycemia?

Last year, after about three years on Effexor, my regular doctor sent me for blood sugar testing because mine was possibly high. (Yet the month before I had an obvious bout of hypoglycemia for several days, which I resolved by eating the biggest bag of peanut M&Ms in a couple of days.) The result of a five-hour test was within the normal range, but it was ten points from the top.

Blood sugar was something I had checked every now and then for 25 years because, before I found out about Inattentive ADHD, it was the only thing I could think of to explain my low energy level and because I had occasional hypoglycemic symptoms, which always went away after I ate candy. I had always tested right on the bottom line of the normal range on snap tests and on a four-hour test.

The nurse told me to keep checking it because swinging up and down could be a precursor to diabetes. Other than that, my doctor wasn’t concerned. I’ll let his office know there may be a link between Effexor and blood sugar. Any sources you have would be helpful.

Thanks
Kacy
