Actually I switched from Lexapro to Desipramine. I couldn't take the side effects from anything higher than 5mg lexapro (most disturbing were night sweats). I've only been on Desipramine for 2 weeks and side effect wise I've experienced some increased heart rate, dizzyness, and sexual side effects - decrease of libido and even pleasure. There has been no antidepressant effect yet and so far I'd say Lexapro is a superior med... but I know it's still early. What is your dosage of Lexapro and Desipramine? I'm currently on 75mg and will go up to 100mg this week.

Side-effect-wise I mostly had problems with dry mouth and dizziness upon standing. The higher the dose, the more side effects. However, they weren't so bad that I wanted to stop taking it.
