Chris, I'm so sorry. I usually check with the pharmacist before I take any med. They know a lot more than the pdocs. When I worked in the hospital surgeons were the worst. To go to surgery all prior doctor's orders have to be discontinued. Then surgical orders are written. When the patient returns to the floor the surgeon is responsible for reordering meds and adding any postop ones pain, etc. We once had a man go psychotic because he was on 4mg of xanax and the surgeon forgot to order it again. He was in leather restraints. 24hours after restarting xanax he was fine. So I'm not surprised and you're lucky you found out when you did. Fondly, Phillipa
