No wonder she seemed to want me to keep taking the drug,,She probably found out what the withdrawals where like and decided to keep me drugged up to the eyeballs so I wouldn't go punch her in the head when these withdrawal feelings started.
> Thank god I found this place. I thought that it was just me feeling weak or something and that the brain zapps where me just going Nuttso. Wow,,, so every one gets them. I don't mean to be rude,, but thank god for that fact.

Hi,
I'm sure this thread will be redirected to the withdrawal board but for now let me say that there's a good chance you could do the Effexor withdrawal without the horrible side effects you're experiencing. I tapered slowly and at the end (the last tiny bit of a pill) I added in another serotonergic agent. Prozac works the best as it has a very long half-life. Just one or two days of a 10 mg. pill would work wonders for you if you could get it prescribed. I only had a couple of bad days because I didn't take the other serotonergic pill sooner. Once I took it, all of the bad withdrawal effects went away and stayed away. I've also known of others who switched meds (to something else serotonergic) rather than completely tapering off of the Effexor first. They also experienced NO withdrawal problems. There is no need to suffer so much. Wish these ignorant doctors would get their heads out of the sand and treat these withdrawals the right way. It makes me so mad that their denials make the problem so much worse.
