Maybe moving towards distinct specialties would be even better. Although it might nip competition in the long run, but then again it all has its mysterious ways of working out. I would like to phase out my primary care physician and replace him with a secretary to do deal with the bureaucraties.
Retail may be moving into that direction as well, away again from present supermarkets and drugstores which now sell anything from scented candles to summer sandals (but you can't find a walking cane or catherter supplies), to hyperspecialty warehouses.
