I agree with Phillipa. Try and write out how you have been feeling, how this affects you..a lot of people I think can have a hard time to get the words going when someone is in front of you. Try writing it..just let the words go. Then you can see what you have written, you can either simply give what you wrote to your doctors/therapists, or maybe with time you can even read it out loud.
Even in your post, the way you worded things, told me right away that you are in pain and at a loss....it is a good start.
Though you may be talking about anxiety geting in the way of talking, a med could perhaps help with this anxiety, but I'd give this a try first....getting the words out, whether written or spoken to someone will help you feel less alone.
