My dad is bipolar 1 (typical bp).
Anyway, there were months and months were he was "centered" while I was growing up.
Then there were many months were he would get manic- super high high's, not sleeping for days an days, spending money we didn't have (we lost everything once because of this!), and he would often leave my mom and me for some other woman during this time (became a sex addict during his manic periods).
THen- he would crash and become depressed (and come back to my mom). He would be suicidal, then he would usually go on a drug binge (cocaine was his drug of choice), and then eventually that would end.
And once again- he would be back to himself for a while; going to church, being more stable, etc..
So yes, I think bp's can have stable periods. My grandmother was also bp and she had years of stability but it was only when she was on Lithium.
I think being on the right meds is likely the key.
Do you have any side effects from the Topomax?? And how do you function on that much Seroquel? I was on 25 mg's and I could hardly walk! LOL
