If I were to take one of those with my XR instead of splitting open a cap, would this be ok? Or would my bloodplasma levels drop after 5 hours due to effexor's relatively short half-life? And would I consequently not reap the benefits?

If you're wondering about busting that cap open, no big deal, except for the hassle. I take it that is the reason for your question, the nuisance factor?
