I played with amisulpride dosing from 12.5mg to 100mg and found that 25mg to 50mg was the best range for me.

It does kick in fast, like the first or second day. But then it fades. Just a guess, but I feel that initial effect is due to dopamine release similar to what a stimulant would do, and then the tolerance immediately sets in. Then for the next few weeks the increased dopamine levels cause a cascade of other chain reactions, much like most psychiatric medications. Eventually, after 3 or 4 weeks, those changes lead to improvement of symptoms.

Dizziness, anxiety, somnolence...yes, I did feel these. Dizziness not much. Anxiety went away quickly. Somnolence only at a dose that was too high.

If you experienced apathy on Amisulpride, that would be a clue, in my opinion only, that the dose was too high, or that the cause of your symptoms is not primarily due to dopamine deficiency in the mesolimbic part of the brain.

With amisulpride I found I was extremely sensitive to dosing. For example, the difference between 12.5mg and 25mg might seem minor, but one or the other could be tons better than the other. Sometimes less is better. I kind of had to play around with dosing to find that therapeutic window that worked for me.
