I stuck it out, and since then I have grown use to the additional boost of energy that it gives me. So, If I am going to try something new I want it to be energizing but not increase my Anxiety. By Anxiety I mean excessive worrying.

Instead of dropping the Effexor, you might try reducing it to 37.5mg and see if the s/e are much lessened and you can still have good control of the GAD symptoms that seem to be the main thing you are wanting to keep a lid on. It could be as simple as that. I would give that a try before changing meds yet again. You might also think about tossing 10mg of nortriptyline on top of a lower E dose.. just a thought.
