it seems quixotic to use buspirone as monotherapy, but for what it's worth, the manufacturer's suggested range for generalized anxiety disorder (its only approved indication) is 20-30 mg/day. Oddly, it does seem to work better than expected for PTSD, though it has documented worthlessness in panic disorder and social phobia. When I added it as an adjunct to nortriptyline, i noticed an immediate difference, but it has a reputation for being more effective as an augmenter.
