There *were* some good points about Cymbalta that I found.. I could actually sleep reasonably well on the stuff-it didn't have the sleep disruptive effects that Effexor had. It also didn't upset my stomach the way the other serotonergics did(I think it was due to the enteric coated pellets). But, I know that Cymbalta would never work for me because with continued dosing (I was down to 12 pellets or so for about three weeks before stopping), my anxiety level was just too HIGH, and it didn't seem to diminish with time at a constant dose. Back off of it and the anxiety went down. What I would like to see is a "dual" AD that is both a serotonin and dopamine reuptake inhibitor that came in a formulation similar to Cymbalta (enteric coated pellets), so I could adjust the dose and get the advantage of the enteric coatings. Effexor and Zoloft have been the two best AD's I've ever tried and they both have some weak DA reuptake inhibitor properties. But the Zoloft just shreds my GI tract (nothing helps it not even adding nortriptyline), and Effexor disrupts my sleep badly and raises my blood pressure a LOT. OH WELL.
